R-MEN Recycling Center

Kailey Butner (1/5 stars, 7 months ago): This business is a SCAM! I had 8.5 pounds worth of aluminium cans. The receipt said I only had 4.5 pounds worth of cans. When I asked about this the worker said he has to account for the weight of the basket. Well the basket only weighed 1.2 pounds. 8.5 lbs - 1.2 lbs. = 7.3 lbs They should have paid me 7.3 pounds worth of recyclables but they only paid me 4.5 pounds worth of recyclables. What a joke. I guess they hope people don't read the fine print and double-check the math. I will never conduct business here again.

Ed M (1/5 stars, 10 months ago): Do NOT use these people!! They are 100% dishonest and will rip you off. In order to protect yourself from these type of people you should weigh your recycling before arriving. Then as they weigh it you’ll need to look at their scale and record the weight of each bin. Do NOT allow them to dump and/or mix your recycling until you’ve confirmed your weights match. If their weights don’t match take your recycling back and bring it to an honest recycling center. I weighed mine prior to going and simply trusted them to be honest in recording the weight. But because I was not looking at the scale as they weighed each bin they would enter a lower weight then quickly mix with their inventory therefore making it impossible to dispute in the end. This is why I mentioned to confirm your weight before allowing them to mix with their inventory. They literally paid out only 65% of actual weight. Fair warning they are dishonest and crooked as they come! They WILL guaranteed 100% steal from you if you allow them to. Sadly I was too trusting this time but never again.

J Alva (4204Life) (1/5 stars, 8 months ago): I had a feeling these people were dishonest but I went anyway. I knew they ripped me off as th3y didnt give me s chance to confirm anything because they take and weigh your cans without as much as a warning to you so that you can verify weight and quickly dump them into another bin. But what could I do after the fact? I was certain they had done me dirty and after I spoke to my dad who said he would rather drive to the center in Baldwin Park because " ahi roban" (they rob you there) to me telling him I went Armens on sunflower I knew i wasnt wrong. Anyway I am now just seeing all these reviews and can see we are all in agreement. If you have any choice choose another location. I think at least $20 to $25 were taken from in that exchange with them.
