About This Center

The City of Opelika offers curbside single-stream recycling service, with pick-up days determined by your Ward from Monday to Friday. Beginning January 13, 2025, recycling will be collected every week, five days a week, aiming to provide a more streamlined service. It is crucial to follow all recycling rules to prevent contamination, as contaminated recycling can lead to entire loads being discarded. The curbside recycling program accepts aluminum cans, cardboard, paper, plastic bottles and jugs, and steel cans, while not accepting plastic bags, styrofoam, or wood. The Jeter and 8th Avenue Full-Service Recycling Centers accept various items, including appliances, tires (for Opelika residents only), and yard waste. Glass, batteries, and electronics are not accepted. Plastic bags can be recycled at specific stores, and batteries can be recycled at designated locations. James Joyce (5/5 stars, 3 years ago): A great resource for Opelika citizens. There's posted hours and a gate here but it looks like the gate stays open 24/7. Has a series of very large bins a dumpster appliance area and a shipping container for electronics (no batteries) paint aluminum and more. Remarkably clean and doesn't even smell bad.

Lizzy Lyles (5/5 stars, 2 years ago): This place is kinda hidden and you would pass right by it but it is a great resource. They accept everything from electronics and paint to cardboard boxes. Very clear labels on where to put things. Does not accept glass so be prepared. This place is great.
