North Augusta Residential Recycling Drop-Off Center

North Augusta's Residential Recycling Drop-Off Center at 67 Claypit Road is for city residents, with labeled blue dumpsters for sorted recyclables and weekday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. It takes aluminum and steel cans, food and beverage cartons, clear, brown and green glass bottles and jars, paper and flattened cardboard, and plastic bottles and containers. It refuses aluminum foil, drinking glasses, canning jars, Pyrex, window glass, pizza boxes, shredded paper, Styrofoam, plastic bags and plastic bottles that held motor oil. The city has also run its own Materials Recovery Facility since 1993, where residential and commercial mixed recyclables are separated into cardboard, glass, aluminum and plastics, then baled and sent to processors.
