Alana Shea (5/5 stars, 6 months ago): So I had a rechargeable coffee foam whisk that decided to lose its mind last night and get super hot start turning itself on and off etc. My whole wall was shaking because it was inside the cupboard going WILD. Now I’ve seen enough Station 19 and Chicago Fire to know this thing could combust and burn the house down overnight after realizing it had a lithium-ion battery inside without an accessible compartment to remove it and it just kept getting hotter as it ran. Couldn’t shut it off. After much debate with the council (my mom) my proposed plan of putting it in a ceramic mug in the middle of the driveway for the night was accepted so that’s what I did. Anyway today we took the battery (WHICH WAS STILL HUMMING) to Edco today and the guys were super nice. I just parked and they took it. I didn’t even go inside. Cheers. Moral of the story don’t put lithium-ion battery powered coffee whisks and other related products in your cupboard unless you want to be a disposable extra in a firefighter NBC show.
