Marion County Solid Waste offers furniture collection events at various locations with specific dates and times, including Forest Corner, Blitchton, Hog Valley, Lake George, Baseline, Orange Springs, Citra, Fort McCoy, Weirsdale, Orange Lake, Florida Highlands, Salt Springs, South Forest, and Wright Road. The events accept items such as sofas, bed frames, mattresses, box springs, bureaus, benches, chairs, dressers, lamps, and tables. Residents in unincorporated areas can use recycling centers at no extra cost or opt for private haulers, while those in incorporated areas, businesses, and those with excess waste can use the Marion County Baseline Landfill. Commercial users can contact Solid Waste for available programs at the Baseline Transfer Station. Additionally, there are volunteer opportunities like the Adopt-A-Road program for litter cleanup along roadways, providing equipment and road sign incentives.
