Cook County Recycling Center & Thrift Store

Amy (4/5 stars, 6 years ago): Great for dropping off recycling. Limited plastic acceptance. Numbers 1 & 2 for plastic so most of your yogurt containers and clamshells (from takeout) are not accepted. People are on site and willing to provide guidance with regard to how to sort. Surprisingly clean.

Jodi Middendorf (4/5 stars, 7 years ago): This place is a great place that is important to the sustainability of Grand Marais. I am only really familiar with the thrift store part of the establishment. There are so many things in the store. Truly a treasure chest. However you have to be willing to search for your treasure because they LOAD this place with items to the point where it can seem to be a chore to find the things you are looking for. HOWEVER the search is worth it. I've always been able to find something here that makes it worth my time and effort. Happy searching!!
