About This Center

The Bentonville Compost Facility offers various grades of compost and wood mulch for sale, with prices ranging from $4 to $20 per cubic yard depending on the grade. Residents can dispose of yard waste for free with a recent utility bill and photo identification, while non-residents are charged $12 per cubic yard for compost. Starting August 12, 2023, all contractors and commercial haulers must be accompanied by a Bentonville resident with their utility bill in person to offload material collected in the city, with no copies of utility bills accepted. As of June 20, 2024, wood chips are free for anyone, and as of January 1, 2024, the facility will no longer accept commercial haulers. Additionally, starting July 1, 2023, only cash payments will be accepted for compost sales, with personal checks no longer being an option. The facility also provides recycling bins during normal business hours and offers employment opportunities.

Bruce F (5/5 stars, a year ago): I’ve been bringing our landscape organic waste here for many years. As a Bentonville resident this is a really nice facility to have access to. We also save our glass and large cardboard for deposit at this facility. I probably visit 4 to 6 times per year. While I’ve never needed the mulch they produce I did catch a picture of the mulch production on my last visit.

CRZSUE (5/5 stars, a year ago): This is a great place to get compost for a reasonable price. I get the bagged screened compost and it’s awesome. The first time I used it (about 10 years ago) I noticed a big improvement in my trees shrubs and other plants. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. This year Taylor assisted me and he was awesome. Loaded my car quickly and was friendly and helpful.

Jacob Parker (5/5 stars, 2 years ago): This is a great place to get compost for a great price. I recently picked up several yards of sifted compost for $20 per yard to to amend the soil in my new lawn installation. The sifted compost is not “finely sifted” but worked just fine for my application.
