Customers sign in at the front office, bring their own tools, and pull parts from more than 1,200 foreign and domestic vehicles at this self-service yard on Eberts Lane. The yard opened in August 1985 with about 35 cars, and a new ownership group took over in 2016 under the same name. Visitors must be 18, toolboxes are checked at the entrance and exit, and jacks, torches, grinders, open-toe shoes, alcohol, and generators are not permitted. Staff help load parts too heavy to carry, such as engines, and parts interchange is free. Baughmans also buys junk, damaged, and unwanted vehicles for cash with free pickup, and sends a text when a requested vehicle arrives. Customers come from York, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Gettysburg, and Maryland.
