City of Owensboro Recycling Drop-Off Site

1401 W 7th St

(270) 687-8760

The City of Owensboro's Sanitation Department runs this drop-off recycling center at 1401 W. 7th Street. The site is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and an attendant helps on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings from 7:00 to noon. Four materials go into separate bins: newspaper, aluminum cans, steel cans, and cardboard. Contamination puts a whole load at risk of rejection by the recycler, so newspaper stays out of the aluminum bin. The city's recycling page points metal sellers to Dahl & Groezinger, River Metals Recycling, and SA Recycling for compensated drop-off, and household and certain electrical recyclables to Daviess County Solid Waste.
