RAW Auto & Metal

3300 Liverpool Road

219-962-5000

RAW Auto & Metal is a family-owned scrap and junk car yard on Liverpool Road in Lake Station, recycling in Northwest Indiana for over 30 years. It buys most metals, appliances, car parts, fencing, and junk cars, trailers, and ATVs from businesses and individuals. A sign inside the front gate sends drivers one of two ways. Scrap metal sellers stay in the vehicle, pull left onto the scale, weigh in, unload at the rear of the building, and weigh out again. Everything else goes right toward the garage past the main office, where the scale operator identifies the material and weighs it out. The office inside the main garage pays out. Vehicles need a title or proof of ownership, and pickup quotes are available for junk cars.

Newlon Metals has recycled ferrous and non-ferrous scrap in Central Indiana for more than twenty-five years, and its Marion yard at 654 Lincoln Boulevard sits alongside a second location in Kokomo. Industrial and commercial accounts bring material here, and so do individual walk-in sellers. The buy list covers aluminum radiators, rims, cans, siding, and gutters, copper wire and tubing, brass plumbing fixtures and valves, lead wheel weights, stainless steel sinks and kitchen equipment, cast iron, steel appliances, electric motors, zinc, and car, lawnmower, and motorcycle batteries. Commercial customers get roll-off containers on a pickup schedule, and the company identifies alloys with a Niton XRF analyzer. Marion opens Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to noon.
