Bell Salvage

507 Freel Drive

(515) 232-9372

Mon-Fri 8:00 am-5:00 pm, closed Sat and Sun; last load accepted at 4:30 pm

Iowa law requires every appliance to be demanufactured, and Bell Salvage handles that step with DNR-certified demanufacturers who remove the hazardous components from metal appliances. The Ames yard has been family and locally owned since 1989, licensed and insured, and buys ferrous and non-ferrous scrap from junk cars, motor blocks, and farm machinery to copper, brass, radiators, insulated wire, stainless steel, and catalytic converters. A large truck scale weighs the truck and trailer together, and an indoor scale keeps small loads out of the weather. New accounts are welcome, and the last load is accepted at 4:30 p.m. Homeowners and contractors also rent 20, 30, and 40 cubic yard roll-off containers with drop-off and pickup.
