Tri-CED Community Recycling
33377 Western Ave Union City CA 94587 USA
Tri-CED Community Recycling, located in Union City, California, is the state's largest non-profit recycling operation established in January 1980. Their primary mission is to employ low-income individuals in the recycling industry, share proceeds with non-profit organizations, and promote environmental preservation through recycling activities. Operating 18 residential route trucks daily in Hayward and Union City, they run a certified California Redemption Center open five days a week. Tri-CED also engages in community initiatives such as supporting the Masonic Homes of Union City, Math Science Nucleus, Niles Historical Nursery project, and the Veterans Memorial Park. They are involved in the establishment of the Alameda County Deputy Sheriff's Activities League project. Despite challenges like funding shortages and declining material values leading to the closure of many recycling centers, Tri-CED remains open and emphasizes the importance of recycling. They adhere to a holiday schedule affecting curbside recycling and yard waste pick-up and provide information on SB 1383, a California law targeting landfill emissions. Visitors can access a Recycling Hotline through StopWaste.org for guidance on proper recycling practices and can find recycling locations based on their area. Tri-CED welcomes donations as a 501(c)(3) organization and is committed to continuing their impactful work in the community.
